WHAT IS LICENSE TO ROCK? 




License To Rock is a band from New Delhi, India. It is a band of 6 students from St. Paul’s School, New Delhi. License To Rock also has an alternate name Late Textbook Remorse. The students came together having different musical skills to make a name for themselves in this huge world of music. None of them are perfect musicians but they found perfectness when they came together. The love for music brought them together and has kept them together since.

 The band was formed in the year 2009 and came together by the name of Armageddon. The lead vocalist of the band, Shalem Jackson and the lead guitarist, Deepansh Lakra co-founded the band. Tito Thomas was introduced to the band as the rhythm guitarist and Jijo Joy as the drummer. The band ran along by the name of Armageddon for almost 3 years and worked well along, mostly doing only the genre of rock. Later in 2013, the band decided that they need a change for themselves a rebirth. It was in mid-summer that the band decided to go for a change of name. This rebirth also marked the inclusion of 3 new members to the band. Dipin Kr as the guitarist and back vocalist, Gayatri Mohanan as the lead female vocalist, and Vaisakh Johnson as the keyboardist. The band under the new name “License To Rock” debuted on the annual School Fete.

 With gradual success from the fete the band stayed together for months. Later in the early 2014, the band saw them dismantling when the witness the dismissal of Gayatri Mohanan and Dipin Kr. from the band, who decided they would go up for duets. Even Vaisakh Johnson left the band due to his leaving the town. People saw the leaving of the three members from the band as a sign to the end of the legacy of License To Rock. But the band held together and kept their stand and brought in two new members to the band Sam K. Jose as the new Hindi vocalist and Joemon Johnson as the first ever bassist of the band. The band declared that they are now, without any doubts, complete. People have started believing in License To Rock as they proved themselves over the last few months.
